Green Lemon Chicken
Green Lemon Chicken is very different and very delicious too , here in this recipe , chinese sauces and basic ingredient like coriander and lemon are added to give that much different and balance taste.
In fact few days before , I happened to order lemon Chicken in one of the Restaurants , and they served this Green Lemon Chicken . As I wasn't sure about the taste , but to my surprise this dish turned out to be so delicious , that I could not resist my self from trying it at home.
Basically as we all know that chinese dishes are marinated , deep fried and then tossed in few chinese sauces and served hot . But here I have not deep fried, just pan fried my chicken and then tossed with chinese sauces , If you want to make this dish with the same old method of deep frying the marinated chicken pieces with egg , all purpose flour and cornflour , you can as it depends on you . In this Recipe there are two main Ingredients one is coriander paste and the second one is lemon juice.
Without much ado , Here is my lip smacking recipe of Green Lemon Chicken.

METHOD :
NOTE :
PREPARATION TIME : 30 -40 MINUTES APPROXIMATELY.
SERVES : 3 PERSONS.
- Wash , clean and chop chicken boneless into thick pieces and marinate for an hour with all the ingredients mention under "MARINATION " section .
- In a food processor add coriander leaves and make a paste of it . ( add little water if needed )
- In a wok or pan drizzle some oil and fry chicken boneless on high flame until done , make sure you keep flipping the chicken until done. Once chicken is done , drain and keep aside.
- OR
- Clean , wash and chop boneless chicken into long thin strips and marinate with 3 tbsp soya sauce , salt and 1/2 tsp pepper powder. At the time of frying add 1 egg , 2 tbsp all purpose flour and 2 tbsp cornflour , mix well .Heat oil in a deep pan or kadhai , fry these chicken pieces in batches until golden in color. Drain on an absorbant paper and keep aside.
- In the same wok , add finely chopped garlic in the oil and saute for a minute , add 1 chopped green chilly too and fry . ( If you are making with pan fried chicken pieces then , use the same wok or else in a pan drizzle some oil and continue with the procedure if you are making of deep fried chicken pieces )
- Now add long thin strips of onions and fry for a minute , add salt , soya , green chilly sauce , vinegar , half lime juice .
- Add all the capsicum chopped into thin long strips and saute for half a minute .
- Add coriander paste , salt , rest of the lime juice , chopped green chilies ( the remaining left over chilies ) and sugar . Cook on high flame for a minute .
- Mean while in a small bowl add 1/2 cup water , corn flour and green color , mix well and add to the gravy.
- Bring a boil and thicken the sauce , adjust lime juice , soya sauce , salt , vinegar if needed. ( I added here again soya , salt , lime juice and vinegar to balance the taste , but if you feel the taste is balanced so do not add more soya sauce , salt , lime juice , vinegar )
- Once the gravy thickens , transfer into a serving dish and serve hot.
NOTE :
- Increase or decrease the number of green chillies as per your preferences.
- Best when made with chicken thigh portion but you can make with chicken breast portion too.
- Increase or decrease the number of tablespoon's of soya sauce, chilly sauces, vinegar as per your preferences.
- I never add Ajinomoto salt in any of my Chinese dishes , because it is unhealthy , but if you want to add , it totally depends on you . Better If you avoid it.
PREPARATION TIME : 30 -40 MINUTES APPROXIMATELY.
